1. M&As in 2007: Redrawing the Battle Lines
------------------------------------------------------------

Looking back over the course of 2007, it's clear the technology
industry's landscape has shifted since the year began. Not only have
market forces lifted some companies up while pushing others down, but a
series of mergers and acquisitions have reshaped competitors'
territories.

2. Meebo's 'M' on the Widget Revolution
------------------------------------------------------------

Two-year-old Meebo uses widgets to allow its users to send instant

3. Who Needs Linux Support?
------------------------------------------------------------

The Linux OS is free, but that doesn't mean it won't cost you more than
pocket change to keep it working in your office. Depending on which of
the many consumer or enterprise flavors you select, the price tag for
support can range from your own invested hours scouring community help

4. James Murdoch Steps Closer to Throne
------------------------------------------------------------

James Murdoch was appointed News Corp.'s chairman and chief executive

5. Child Porn Bill Could Turn Net Access Into Compliance Minefield
------------------------------------------------------------

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday rushed through a bill
that puts increased responsibility on the shoulders of Internet service
providers to police the Internet for child pornography. H.R. 3791, also
known as the SAFE Act, requires that anyone providing Internet access --
apparently including coffee shops, hotels and others offering WiFi
service -- report illegal online images involving children.

6. IBM Looks to ITC to Settle Its Asus Patent Beef
------------------------------------------------------------

IBM asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate an
alleged patent infringement it says is being committed by Taiwan-based
Asus. IBM took out the complaint against both Asust and its North
American subsidiary, Asus Computer International, after "repeated
attempts to reach a licensing agreement between the companies," it said.

------------------------------------------------------------

Dell added another big gun to its fast-growing retail arsenal Thursday,
saying it would begin selling some of its personal computers at hundreds
of Best Buy stores across the U.S. The partnership may come too late to
give Dell an immediate boost during the holiday season, however, with
the Round Rock, Texas, company saying that its machines would begin
appearing in Best Buy outlets "in the next few weeks."

------------------------------------------------------------

An investigation into the latest version of "gpicode.ai" put security
