Story Highlights
------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Cashing In on MeCommerce
------------------------------------------------------------
Will you add me? Have you written on my wall? Are we LinkedIn? Social
networks are not only changing the way we speak to our friends, they are
influencing our actions and behaviors. There is no question that social
networks are becoming the networking standard as e-mail replaced snail
mail years ago. Today, there are more than 350 million social network
users, which is more than the total U.S. population.

2. Happy WizKids Day
------------------------------------------------------------
Sometime between Groundhog Day and the Final Four each year, we try to
publish a short report that showcases some of the brightest emerging
companies in front-office computing. We call it the "WizKids Report,"
and we present the companies in the report with a small award. At times,
companies who have felt they deserved the recognition of a WizKids award
but who did not receive one have referred to it as "Passover."

3. WiFi Hotspot Surfers Beware: Sharks Patrol These Waters
------------------------------------------------------------
WiFi features are as standard on today's portable computers as built-in
modems used to be. Laptop users have become accustomed to the ability to
connect to the Internet from practically anywhere to reach e-mail, Web
sites and music download portals. Consumers even use wireless routers to
connect to the Internet from anywhere in their homes.

4. WizKids Report Highlights Web 2.0-Friendly Processes
------------------------------------------------------------
Every year, Beagle Research Group scours the tech landscape in search of
a few good companies that are developing technologies not only novel to
the customer relationship management industry, but also likely to
reinvent business processes in their particular niches.

5. Clear Channel Plunges on Word of Deal Disintegration
------------------------------------------------------------
The proposed $19.5 billion buyout of radio station operator Clear
Channel Communications is reportedly near collapse because the private
equity firms leading the deal are having trouble nailing down a
financing agreement with banks. Shares of Clear Channel, the largest
radio station operator in the United States, fell $5.86 to $26.80 in
morning trading Wednesday after dropping 5.5 percent a day earlier.

6. NY Air Passenger Law Crashes and Burns
------------------------------------------------------------
State lawmakers moved quickly after thousands of passengers were stuck
for hours in parked planes at John F. Kennedy International Airport
during a 2007 winter storm. Within six months, New York had enacted the
nation's first law requiring airlines to provide food, water, clean
toilets and fresh air to passengers trapped in delayed planes for more
than three hours.

7. Yahoo Stock Rises on Prospect of Sweeter MS Bid
------------------------------------------------------------
Yahoo shares moved higher by more than 3 percent Tuesday after an
analyst upgraded the stock, suggesting that Microsoft was likely to
sweeten its offer for the Web portal. Citigroup Analyst Mark Mahaney
upgraded Yahoo shares to a buy on Monday, arguing that the strategic
value of Yahoo made a more lucrative offer worth the software giant's
money.

8. Sirius-XM Merger Opponents Gird for Last Stand
------------------------------------------------------------
The U.S. Department of Justice has cleared the way for competing
satellite radio services to merge into one company amid fears that the
combined service would create an unstoppable monopoly. Sirius Satellite
Radio and XM Satellite Radio first announced intentions to merge in
February of 2007.

9. Aussie ISP Wails on WiMax
------------------------------------------------------------
An Australian WiMax operator -- or rather former operator -- reportedly
lambasted the technology last week at the WiMAX World Asia 2008
international conference held in Bangkok, Thailand. Buzz Broadband's CEO
Garth Freeman told the audience the technology is a "disaster" which,
when deployed, "failed miserably," according to a report from telecom
publication CommsDay Australasia.

10. EnterpriseDB Wins $10M in IBM-Led Funding Round
------------------------------------------------------------
IBM has bought into New Jersey-based startup EnterpriseDB, an open
source rival of MySQL and Oracle. EnterpriseDB closed a $10 million
round of Series C venture capital financing with IBM, as well as Charles
River Ventures, Fidelity Ventures and Valhalla Partners, the company
