Story Highlights
------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------
1. Mid-Sized Businesses and the Quest for Compliance
------------------------------------------------------------

Mid-market companies often have few choices when it comes to ensuring
compliance with federal regulatory edicts for customer identity and
financial records. Big companies use business process management and
enterprise resource planning systems to track everything their employees
do. Mid-size companies have to spend a small fortune or manage with
manual spreadsheets and homegrown solutions.

2. VRM: Consumers Take Control
------------------------------------------------------------

If you are in London on April 24th, you might want to check out the next
monthly VRM Hub meeting. What is VRM, you wonder? For starters, VRM, or
vendor relationship management, is the brainchild of Doc Searls, senior
editor of Linux Journal and co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto.

3. Securing Your Network, One Zone at a Time
------------------------------------------------------------

As corporations implement compliance with various regulations such as
Sarbanes-Oxley, they find that they end up with different zones within
their network that can't talk to each other. This makes it difficult to
implement an enterprise security solution. Adding virtualization to the
mix complicates things further. Apani Networks has come up with a
solution to this: EpiForce VM.

4. Customer Survey: Banks Getting Online Operations Right
------------------------------------------------------------

Banks have been disappointing customers many ways lately -- tightening
mortgage lending standards, paring back home-equity and credit card
lines and lowering savings interest rates -- but they're receiving
higher marks for at least one thing: their Web sites. Customer
satisfaction with online banking sites has risen significantly over the
past five years, according to a survey released Tuesday by ForeSee
Results.

5. Infosys Brightens Dull Q4 With Sunny Outlook
------------------------------------------------------------

Infosys Technologies' better-than-expected short-term business outlook
glossed otherwise lackluster fourth-quarter results, which fell just
short of market forecasts. "The market was expecting the worst, but the
Nasdaq-listed company has performed well and results are almost in line
with market expectations," R. Ravi, an analyst at Karvy Stock Broking,
said.

6. Microsoft's Silverlight Gaining Ground - and DRM
------------------------------------------------------------

Adobe may still enjoy a resounding lead with its Flash rich-media
runtime and player, but Microsoft appears to be gradually gaining ground
with its Silverlight application platform. At the National Association
of Broadcasters Show 2008 in Las Vegas, Microsoft on Monday announced a
raft of new companies that have adopted Silverlight.

7. Blockbuster's Circuit City Pitch Puzzles Pundits
------------------------------------------------------------

In a surprise move that could reshape the consumer electronics and movie
rental industries, Blockbuster went public Monday with an offer to pay
as much as $1.3 billion to acquire Circuit City. Blockbuster announced
that it made the offer to Circuit City directly on Feb. 17 but went
public with it because the retailer had not responded to requested due
diligence information, such as store sales trends and other data.

8. Microsoft Offers Plan for Ad Data Self-Regulation
------------------------------------------------------------

Microsoft has leapt into the brawl surrounding a recent proposal by the
Federal Trade Commission to tighten restrictions on online advertising,
responding with its own five-tiered plan for self-regulation. In
December, the FTC released a set of proposed principles to "guide the
development of self-regulation" in online behavioral advertising and
sought comments from all interested parties.

9. AMD CTO Departs, Company Eliminates Post
------------------------------------------------------------

Phil Hester has exited the chief technology officer post at Advanced
Micro Devices, according to reports, and he won't be replaced. The
Sunnyvale, Calif.-based manufacturer of computer processors, which
reported more than $6 billion in revenue in 2007 and trails only Intel
in that market, reportedly announced Hester's resignation last week and
said it is not looking to fill the position.

10. Salesforce.com and Google: First Comes Love?
------------------------------------------------------------

Salesforce.com and Google have announced the rollout of Salesforce for
Google Apps, a product that combines Google's budding suite of
productivity applications with the ubiquitous on-demand customer
relationship management application. The two are already collaborators
on Salesforce Group Edition featuring Google Adwords.

11. Apple, China Mobile Miles Apart on iPhone Revenue Model
------------------------------------------------------------

Although China Mobile and Apple have indicated that they want to work
together to bring the iPhone to China, the companies haven't begun
formal talks because they reportedly remain too far apart on an
appropriate business model. China Mobile's door remains open to a deal
with Apple, the company's chairman, Wang Jianzhou, told reporters in
China, as long as its customers are interested in having the iPhone
offered in the country.
